Ànambra 2025: YPP Candidate Commits To Teachers Welfare, Security, Market Modernization

By Chukwuka Ugokwe

The Governorship Candidate of Young Progressives Party, YPP, Sir Paul Chukwuma, says his administration will provide necessary support services to facilitate effective teaching and learning in schools

He also promised to modernize Nkwo Market in Igboukwu, so as to uplift it to the desire standard .

Sir Chukwuma was speaking while interacting with stakeholders in Old Aguata political bloc of Aguata, Orumba South, and Orumba North Local Government Areas in Ekwulobia.

“The Old Aguata Bloc, made up of three LGAs of Aguata, Orumba North and Orumba South, is an essential part of Anambra’s comparative advantage in commerce, industry and agriculture.

“Unfortunately, the entire Aguata bloc has been overwhelmed by insecurity, with criminal camps set up in different farmlands around the axis.

“Under my watch, insecurity in Old Aguata and, indeed, across our state shall be a thing of the past in just three months.

“Ekwulobia has emerged as a significant transit hub. Today, the government has taken over and centralised the transport terminals. This is inconsistent with the wishes of the people of Aguata. We shall resolve this.

“We shall strengthen popular markets in OAU like the Nkwo Igboukwu, which has been a prominent market for many years, with traders coming to buy from far and near.

“We shall modernise that market so that it will have the capability to reach its full potential.

“As I observed in Nnewi the day before, we shall prioritize the welfare of our teachers. At the moment, there is no government owned teachers’ quarters in Aguata.

“We shall provide solid infrastructure to accelerate teaching and learning across our dear State”
