Omor community, Àyamelum Local Government Area, erupted in confusion during the visit of the State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo to attend new yam festival staged by the peace loving community.
We gathered through a disturbing viral video trending on the social media that the Member representing Àyamelum state constituency, Hon Bernard Udemezue, attempted to breach protocol during the event held at the traditional ruler’s palace, Igwe Chidume Oranu.
The House of Assembly Member known to be critical of the state government was reported to have arrived after the Governor Soludo at the venue causing a stir by attempting to forcefully approach him without a recourse to official protocol.
According to the video clip, the legislator was spotted making frantic effort to wade through scores of people including the Chairman, Organising Committee, Engr Godwin Mgbechi, who tried to pull him back to prevent a breakout of violence at the event.
However, it took the intervention of concerned dignitaries and security operatives to restore orderliness for continuation of the traditional observance, while some wondered what the lawmaker intended to achieve by trying to physical confront the Governor.
According to our source, “What Hon Udemezue displayed during his recent live video sessions is quite unfortunate and unbefitting of the responsibility that he holds in trust for the good people of Omor and Ayamelum Local Government Area at large.
“As the member representing Ayamelum whose community the governor is visiting, courtesy demanded that he be present to join the welcome party rather than arriving later, right after the governor was already seated”
They further described the action of the lawmaker as trying to denigrate Soludo, who was duly invited to the special occasion as the Chief Executive Officer of the state.
“Does Bernard Udemezue alias Isi Enyi truly understand the difference between being a legislator and an activist?” a source quipped.

Meanwhile, youths of Ayamelum have expressed unwavering confidence and faith in the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The youths commended the Governor for his visionary leadership, people-oriented policies and developmental strides across the state.
According to the convener of Ayamelum Youth Dialogue, Comr. Obinna Nweke, Soludo’s focus on infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, security and agricultural development has rekindled hope among younger generation.
“Governor Soludo’s commitment to building a prosperous and livable Anambra has began to yield tangible results.
“Ayamelum youths remain resolute in their support for state government’s commitment and resolve to develop all parts of the State,” the group said.
The youths also pledged to collaborate with government in sustaining peace, driving community development and mobilizing grassroots support for the current administration.
They further emphasized their believe in the Governor’s capacity to deliver on his promises and transform Anambra into a model state in Nigeria.
The youths expressed optimism that with Prof Soludo’s leadership, Ayamelum shall witness unprecedented progress and development.
They encouraged every member of the community to continue to support the governor to be able to drive the Solution agenda in the area.
