By Emenike Ugochukwu, Awka The Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma, has identified poor road connectivity and lack of government support to farmers as major issues militating against development of Awka North Local Government Area.
He, however, assured of his commitment to tackle the challenges if he becomes the next governor of the state.
Sir Chukwuma was speaking when he moved his campaign train to Awka North where he was warmly received by the people at Mgbakwu Community.
“The first problem with Awka North is connectivity among communities in the LGA. This is a major challenge. We shall confine this experience to history. We shall make it easy for all communities in Awka North to become easily accessible from one point to another.
“We are also aware of the network difficulty facing diverse parts of Awka North. We shall put an end to it”
He wondered why Awka North with over N30 billion received from federal allocation since the inception of the current administration would be neglected .
” This is why some farmlands have been taken over by criminal elements. A lot of our brothers and sisters in Awka North are farmers. They can’t go to their farms.
“Today in Anambra State, our farmers are totally ignored, and they get zero support from the State Government. We shall support our farmers immensely to enhance produce and build their capacity to export their produce.
“Our government has an eye on Awka North, and we shall fix this local government”
