Ahead of November 8th Anambra Governorship Poll, Candidate of the Young Progressives Party(YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma, has assured the citizens that his administration will salvage the state from bondage and chart the way forward for its progress
The Governorship Hopeful expressed confidence that he would win the election and become the next governor of the state in March 2026.
Fielding questions from newsmen at his Umueri Country home, he specifically vowed to fix the prevailing security challenges facing the state within six months of assumption of office.
“I am in this race to win and become the governor of Anambra State. I am not in this race to run a comedy show. I will be the governor for everybody and to everybody.
“As far as i am concerned, the insecurity in Anambra is a fact, i hope with the mandate of Ndi Anambra by the grace of God within the first six months of taking over as the governor, i am going to deal squarely with issues of insecurity”
While underscoring the need to elevate the state from the grip of bad governance to an enduring impact on its overall development, he affirmed his resolve to take pragmatic steps to usher Anambra into a model state.
He further assured that under his watch local government autonomy and independence of the legislature would be guaranteed, noting that transparency, accountability and citizenship participation in governance would be promoted.
Sir Chukwuma, highlighted that his campaigns so far signified general acceptance of his vision to transform the state, which also elicited wholehearted endorsement of his candidacy by the electorate.
He condemned the resort to campaign of calumny and hate speeches by some political actors in the name of electioneering campaign, insisting on issue based engagements.
“I have made it clear that i am not interested in gossips. I am not interested in non issue based campaigns.I am more interested in explaining to Ndi Anambra the reason why i offered myself to serve as their governor.
“I am more interested in pointing out the areas the Anambra economic and social ecosystem have been broken and how we intend to fix it.
“I am more interested in informing Ndi Anambra the source of funding for several disruptive positive changes i intend to bring to Ndi Anambra”
