A member of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) Abia State Chapter, Chinenye Ịwụọha, has charged broadcasters to uphold the principle of time management and always be time conscious in the discharge of their professional services.
Speaking on the topic ‘Time Management in Broadcasting’, during the September training of the SNB, Abia state chapter held in the BCA, Umuahia , Chinenye explained the importance of time keeping in the media industry, and the risks associated with not keeping to time.
She stated that time is of great essence to a broadcaster and to the public.
She disclosed that news editors should know the average pace of the readers when editing the news bulletins, to avoid overshooting the allotted time.
On his part, a former TV Director in the BCA, Mr. Chikezie Onyeabor stressed the need to apologize to the listener when there is a glitch or mistake in presentation, noting that the listener should not be taken for granted.
Commending the presenter Chinenye Ịwụọha for an insightful lecture, the Chairman, SNB , Abia chapter, Chinezerem Agbakuru emphasized, the need for broadcasters to be alive to their duties and time conscious always.
The meeting featured question and answer session in which issues were addressed accordingly and celebration of SNB members born in September.
