An APGA House of Assembly Member, Hon Patrick Udoba and three other members have defected from Labour Party, YPP to the APC, pledging their support to the party’s candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu.
Hon Uboda representing Anambra West, Paul Obu representing Orumba North, Patrick Okafor representing Onitsha North 2 and Ikedi Oji representing Nnewi North officially joined APC during the inauguration of the State Campaign Council.
Introducing the Lawmakers during the event held at the State Secretariat of the party,Awka, its Governorship Candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, reiterated his commitment to create enablers that would drive sustainable development of the state.
He promised to work with his running mate, Sen Uche Ekwunife, to restore hope to Anambra residents and people’s confidence in governance.
The Governorship Hopeful specifically assured to tackle security challenges, attract investments, steady power supply, create industrial clusters, introduce agric revolution chain as well as functional health facilities.
Inaugurating the campaign council, the National Vice Chairman of the party, South East, Dr Ijeoma Arodiogbu, described their assignment as very important to the party, urging them to double their effort.
State Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike, charged the newly inaugurated state campaign council members to work assiduously towards success of the party in the election.
Responding, the Director General of the State Campaign Campaign Council, Dozie Ikedife Jnr, pledged to work with other members of the council to deliver Anambra to the APC.
Other members of the council including Chief John Bosco Onunkwo, Dep Director General South and Amb Elijah Onyeagba, Dep Director General Central, affirmed their willingness to strategize to ensure victory for the party.
Contributing, a former governorship aspirant, Chief Chidozie Nwankwo, highlighted the need to support the party to take the state to the promised land.
